This game is getting UGLY.  Little just beaned the first batter in the 7th . . . in the head.  This after Fresno St's pitcher, named Cardinal, has been smoking our batters.  Fresno St fans are cat calling the ump and every Stanford batter.  They are being very rude.  We are still up by 2 runs.

Little just struck out the batter for the 3rd out of the 8th.  He's throwing killer sliders and hot fast balls.  Three more outs and we take this one.  Let's hope we can get some cushion runs in the 9th.

Maybe I’m naive but I don’t see Little deliberately putting the leadoff man on in that situation.

As for the Fresno fans and players, they take their cues from the head coach. Batesole is as bush league as they come.

I’ll give our guys the benefit of the doubt with respect to the sloppiness and chalk it up to a long day of baseball. Let’s get three more outs, get some rest and send these jerks back to the Valley tomorrow night.

Fresno fans have always been noted for being rowdy and raucous, to the point of being obnoxious. So I doubt if it is totally a function of their coach, although he may be a contributor.
Anyway, nice victory. Hope for another Monday.
