He's known for a fastball high-80s to low 90s with deceptive delivery and a top level changeup.
[That sounds a little like Fresno relief pitcher Carvajal who gave Stanford so much trouble over the weekend. I don't think Carvajal's fastball has that much velocity, but he had a plus changeup which killed our power guys.]
MSU's day two starter (he was used in game 1 in the regional) is frosh JT Ginn. He was a notable prospect last year as a 19 year old HS senior drafted #30 by the Dodgers. He has a fastball up to high 90s and a good slider. 8-4 this year with a 3.36 ERA.
MSU's day three starter is Peyton Plumlee, an actual senior. He didn't pitch last year due to a drug test suspension. He doesn't seem to be a major prospect and I cannot find a decent scouting report on him. He was 6-4 on the year with a 3.87 ERA.
It looks like Plumlee and Ginn have switched around day 2/3 starts, but I think that was their rotation towards the end of the season.
