Speaking of Michigan, ESPN's broadcast made a point to emphasize how coach Eric Bakich wants to find players wherever they are, including "inner cities" so he can have a diverse team that "looks like America." Kyle Peterson added this means Michigan isn't just going to be going to the showcase tournaments to recruit. They will bring in kids who don't have the money to play in travel leagues but are still good ball players. Based on how much he emphasized he likes that approach I wondered if he wishes Stanford would do the same.
Thanks for sharing that about Peterson; would it be fair to characterize the Bakich approach as "the opposite of Harbaugh"? I also hope Stanford looks far and wide, and not just the showcase tourneys.
