Good news for the devotees of a historic landmark in Portola Valley: The Alpine Inn is due to re-open sometime in July.

To clarify the above, the web site indicated a July 15th re-opening for about a month and a half. It is now back to an unspecified date. The construction/repair is still ongoing, and visually looks nowhere near close to done. Maybe August 15th, but I doubt sooner. It may be closer to ready than it appears, but based on appearance, there is still lots to do. There are many brand new picnic tables stacked up by the fence. It appears that construction is ongoing on a new roof for a covered area in the "outdoor" portion of the eating area. The main building got painted recently.
