Three interesting items.
1. Giants just went ahead against the Brewers, 2-1. Stanford's own Austin Slater hit a hard double into the gap to drive in Longoria. The Fox announcer (not sure who it is) says Slater reminds him of J. D. Martinez. Says last year he looked like a 1980s hitter, continually hitting down on the ball. Says he completely retooled his swing. Later had a two out single to keep a drive alive, then ran around to tie the score, 4-4. Slater now hitting .450, OPS of 1.650.
2. The Brewers went for a reliever against Panik, double switch to bring in lefty reliever. Hall-of-Fame-bound manager Bochy counters with Solarte (hitting .289, over 40% better than Panik). Solarte gets a single, leading to Slater. This is why Bochy (among many other moves) deserves Cooperstown.
3. Brought in Watson for the 7th, and Dyson for the 8th. Spanked, gave up three runs. Moronta had a shaky 9th. 5-4 loss, and chalk it up to the Giants' shaky bullpen.
