I recall going to an open practice 3 springs ago (after CMcC's record-breaking year). After practice and after all the reporters had gone, 4 players stuck around to practice on their own, Chryst, who I figured would be the new starting QB, Christian, who was held out of practice and probably wanted to get some work in that day, Irwin, who had had a terrific freshman season the year before, and an unknown player (to me), who I had to look up on the roster sheet to find out his name was JJ Arcega-Whiteside.

They practiced for nearly an hour. Chryst threw to them as they did crossing patterns and go routes. There was not much talking, no joking around, and plenty of concentration on what they were doing.
