Now hopefully they don't feel the need to blast the dumb hype music at jet-engine decibel levels.
I'll wait and listen before I say hallelujah. The old sound system was usually very good at my seat, except for a few games (usually at the start of a season) where something was wrong and it was terrible.
I don't see why they'd play the stupid hype music at a lower volume because of a better sound system. Actually I worry that whoever is at the volume control will see a better sound system as an opportunity to play everything louder.
I got the impression that it was so loud because it was hard to hear in certain spots, so if the overall levels are more even they could be lower in the problematic areas. This seems like something that everyone was harping on in their end-of-season surveys, so I'm hopeful that they've listened. We'll see...
The top end pro stadiums blast sound that puts a lot of city dance clubs to shame. Luckily for everyone unhappy with the dB levels humanity developed a solution...earplugs.
For those that thought the older sound system was too much, I would suggest carrying a few earplugs to the first game. Lots of earplugs are small, lightweight and pretty effective.
Maybe the AD will BLAST the music on the shady side and in the concourse areas in an attempt to force more people to flee into the seats on the sunny side.
