My favorite memory was the game against Washington in the Fiesta Bowl year. Everything was working on offense. Andrew could have thrown for as many yards as he wanted to, but he kept checking into running plays. Stanford ran for 446 yards that day, at 10 yards per carry. Andrew could have been selfish and thrown for 300 yards and 5 touchdowns. But he came to the line of scrimmage, saw that a running play was going to work and made the audible, and handed the ball off to Wikerson (93 yds), Taylor (138 yds) or Gaffney (117 yds). This game showed me that Andrew was a master at his craft and operating at a different level than any other QB in the game. He was the offensive coordinator that day, and didn't mind that he missed the chance to put up the kind of individual numbers that win you post-season awards.

Andrew's line was 16-21, 169 yds, 2 TDs. The numbers he cared most about were Stanford 65, UW 21.
