<p>The Wok's biggest problem for TV is the appeal of the&nbsp;concourse, which in many ways is the awning some crave.<br></p><p><br></p><p>In most stadiums it is not possible to see the action if you leave the seats.&nbsp; It certainly wasn't possible in the original Stanford Stadium.&nbsp; Now at&nbsp;Stanford stadium you can&nbsp;stand 4 or 5 deep in the concourse and still get a good view of the action.&nbsp; People are also willing to stand closer together than they will accept in seats too.&nbsp; &nbsp;So it is&nbsp;possible to get 10-15&nbsp;rows of seats into the concourse below the upper deck.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>In the new Stanford stadium the shady side has a much larger percentage of the stands in the shade.&nbsp; &nbsp;So many of those on the sunny side can quickly identify seating options in the shady and occupy them.&nbsp; &nbsp;And others from the sunnier areas&nbsp;can move to the shady side concourse areas for a better view.</p><p><br></p><p>I actually don't think the Wok was hotter than games in the old Stanford Stadium, but with so many viable options in the shade only the biggest sunseekers remained in the stands in the sun.&nbsp; Unfortunately for the TV broadcasters that creates an impression that no one is at the game.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>Halftime for me&nbsp;was eye-opening.&nbsp; &nbsp;There probably were less than 100 people sitting on the East side during LSJUMB's performance&nbsp;while several thousand people were in the concourse areas. <br></p><p></p><p></p>
