I doubt Costello has any say in the matter. He shouldn’t. I’m confident we’re it up to him, he’d play. True of most. Which is why he won’t have a say.

One factor to consider. The odds Stanford will beat USC with Costello are greater than the odds they will with Mills. When you consider how important it is to win this game in the context of the next two, the competitive nature of Costello may tip the scales to him playing.
Another factor is that QBs rarely take shots to the head. If the was a RB or WR, I'd be a lot less inclined to believe he would play one week after taking a hit to the head like Costello did.
