I think that's more on Mills making that choice to throw, although who knows maybe it was his first read. I'm normally pretty skeptical of criticisms of playcalling but fades are =inefficient routes. I can understand doing them on occasion, especially with a size mismatch like that, but on 3rd and short it seems like a poor choice, especially when Mills has been underthrowing them like that.

Agree. We’ve run the fade/jump ball successfully plenty and have better than average success (or at least we did last year), but on third and short from the 14, I might have gone with a slant or a short pass to Wilson or weddington.
