I haven't thought it possible for Utah to defeat anyone with a decent offense because the Utes don't have any outside threats. But the reality is BYU who seemingly has less offense than Utah, in fact beat USC. Now it was a road game for USC, and this week will be at home for the scandalous cheaters, but I can't imagine Utah beating USC in L.A. this week. If they do, I will be even more alarmed at Shaw's performance degradation.
That same Utah team beat BYU on the road by 18. They are absolutely loaded with seniors (4 or so guys with legitimate NFL prospects came back), their front 7 is probably strongest in the conference, and they are the clear team to beat in the Pac-12 South.
I don't think Utah - who will be favored - beating USC tells us much beyond the fact that Utah is good, which we already know.
