The team spent the week staying at a Holiday Inn near Youngstown Ohio and practicing on a converted soccer field at nearby Youngstown State.

Less travel, no jet lag and early season team bonding in a no frills environment.  Smart move.

Thanks for the tidbit.  I see that it was no coincidence.  Youngstown, the home of the Debartolos.  I looked it up - sure enough, the Holiday Inn is owned by the Edward J. Debartolo Corporation.  The team saved a ton of money.
