So, Shaw found a way to win at a level at Stanford that none of us have witnessed before. Was he then a good coach?  And now because for the first time in his career they have lost three straight is he a lousy coach? 

 I get the disappointment. And I would agree with you that they need to make some changes perhaps moving forward. But I think you’re a little over the top.  

Five turnovers today. FIVE! Two deep in their own territory that gave up six early points; three in goal to go situations (I think). Horrible execution.

In their first two games, they had FIVE TDs called back on penalties. FIVE!!! Horrible execution.

Oh by the way, they're 3 and 0. Good, well-coached teams find a way to win.

Sometimes, even on a sports board, that may be what's required.

Twas mentoring a CEO last week who's sales team is at 10% of expectations. He was concerned about accountability within his team, but was worried about micromanaging if he got too involved. The dude's in a crisis and doesn't realize it; he could lose the job and the company. Did everything possible to light a fire under the guy. Good guy. Great ethics. Right guy for the company. Just needs a kick in the ass from a somewhat impartial observer.

When I hear comments like "I don't have a panic button", I feel like we've Edward Smith as a head coach. We've looked like crap for four weeks out of four this year. Somebody needs to hit a panic button and sound the alarm. Our coach, who appears to be a good guy, has great ethics, and is the right guy for the team, needs a kick in the ass.
