I've been watching this morning and thought until just a little bit ago that I have listening to Dave Fleming. To me Jason Beneti sounds just like Fleming.

is that a compliment, complaint or just an observation?

As Dave is the consummate pro, any comparison with him should be a compliment.
And BTW, it's Flemming, not Fleming.

I was actually wondering if it might be a case of conscious emulation.  I mean, the voice modulation was very similar as was cadence.  Probably more likely that the qualities that Flemming has shown make Benetti successful as well.
