Optimism for me is that Shaw and staff will adapt and solve the recruiting puzzle, future and current players will heal/stay healthy and continue to develop, and the results of the above will be evident next year as Stanford challenges for the Pac-12 North.

I sincerely hope you're right, but Shaw's track record doesn't suggest that he will make sufficient changes to solve the major problems unearthed by the last two seasons.
