regarding the long stoppages of play, many of us in the stands had been calling for flagrant fouls on the gonzaga player who was swinging her elbows. the refs did indeed then call 2 flagrant 1's - one on each team. the stoppages were to review to decide common vs flagrant. the announcer said intentional, but there was no arms crossed above the head signal for intentional foul. certainly, they were for some kind of rough play. i myself didn't mind because it kept gonzaga in check more than us. they had been whacking us way more than we were whacking them
i was quite impressed with gonzaga's screens. ours paled in comparison. we got, i believe, 3 fouls for knocking over their screener.
they seemed really quick on defense. for stanford, both hulls, anna wilson, and kiana were also quick. fran and haley aren't quick to position, but have quick hands and long arms.
