Rough summary:
NCAA MBB and NBA NCAA WBB and FIBA Old terminology no longer in use Penalty Flagrant 1 Unsportsmanlike Intentional 2 shots and loss of possession. Flagrant 2 Disqualifying 2 shots, loss of possession, player is ejected. Technical Technical Varies, 1 or 2 shots, with or without loss of possession.
thanks. very interesting! now i'm curious: any links to when women's college basketball eliminated intentional fouls (or combined them with flagrant one into unsportsmanlike)? they seem quite different than flagrant - strategic rather than dangerous.
