I like garvin's theory. The Play is a curse and an albatross around Kal's neck. In the popular imagination, Kal football is this bizarre ending and that's it. Until they disavow The Play they will be forever cursed to never go to the Rose Bowl. Whenever a Weenie friend posts The Play on Facebook, I make this comment. My Weenie friends have since stopped posting it.
