I think the key play of this game was late Q2 when Muills scramble came up 1 yard short of the first down. Following that play the Stanford punt was blocked and all of Stanford's great 1st half momentum disappeared.
Had Stanford sustained that late 2Q drive they might have been ahead by 10, 13, or 17 points (instead of being down at halftime).

Correct.  Two TDs down.  Not hopeless yet, but looking more and more out of hand.
