It’s all about expectations. From Wikipedia:
Stanford has played in 30 all-time bowl games, of which Shaw has taken the team to 8. By my count, we’ve been to 17 New Year’s six Bowls, of which Shaw has taken us to 4 (three Rose and a Fiesta). He also has three of the fifteen PAC-12 championships; Helton has won one of 39.
