TJ Rushing is the DB coach at Memphis which is 11-1.  However when the OC left a student coach was promoted.  Can't have that.  :)

Isn't Kevin Johns still the OC? Quite a history at several schools:

Worth noting that Dantonio "shuffled" his offensive staff in January.

He demoted Dave Warner from Offensive coordinator/RB coach to QB coach, and promoted Brad Salem from QB coach to co-OC/RBs and Jim Bollman from OL coach to co-OC/tight ends.

Scoring improved some (from 18.7 ppg to 22.0 ppg), but the team went from 7-5 (with a subsequent bowl loss) to 6-6 (pending their bowl game).  It certainly didn't reach the heights that MSU had in 2014 (43 ppg) or even 2015 (29 ppg).

I don't know enough about the MSU coaching staff to know what changes, if any, were responsible for the decline.  Salem (the former OC) looks like he's been there since 2010, though I'm not sure in what capacity.

Rather than look at other teams who are making changes to their coaching staff in response to difficulties, perhaps it would be more helpful to evaluate what happens in the future.  Will Texas be better next year with the new staff, or is that just a variant of the politician's syllogism.

USC rearranged its offensive coaching staff after a sub-par season last year (26.1 ppg), and improved its offensive scoring by about a touchdown a game (33.2 ppg), which improved their record from 5-7 to 8-4; on the other hand, USC's offensive output in Helton's first two years (2016 and 2017) was 34.4 ppg, and 32.6 ppg, so maybe it wasn't the coaching staff, but rather Sam Darnold (2016/17) and Kedon Slovis (2019) versus JT Daniels (2018)?

Anyone know of other teams that rearranged their offensive coaching staffs recently?  Saban/Alabama did it, supposedly to much success.  Are there other examples?
