 To wit, for most of the first set (up until our comeback), Penn State was plenty tough. If anything,
losing that first set had to have been pretty demoralizing.

I would think so.  A young team on the road against an experienced, national champtionship team goes up 6 points in the first set--it must have been a boost of confidence.  But after we pulled that first set out, Penn State did not look like the same team that started.
