There are many times in games when she has the ball at the elbow and the lane is pretty cleared out. All she has to do is make a rip move and one or two big steps and she has a layup. And she is so quick and strong and jumps so high that the poor defender guarding her wouldn't be able to do anything to stop it. Instead it seems like she is looking to pass to another player who is then supposed to initiate the offense. Sometimes the best offense is Belibi driving for a layup. Also note that I wish Dodson (when back healthy) would do this as well. However, I think Belibi has a better handle than Dodson for these kind of moves.Yes, absolutely agree. Belibi has a turnover problem too, though. When Jones and Belibi perfect their handles on the ball, our offense could become unstoppable. Especially if Jump is lurking on the perimeter just in case the opponent sells out and clogs the paint to stop drives from Belibi and Jones.
And oh how I hope the Jones mid range jumper continues unabated. It will kills zones and sagging defenses and make teams vulnerable to everything else we can do.
