I think your point about the low pay, Bob, reinforces FarmBoy's point.  When women go pro in sports they know their first contract won't set them up for life.  They know they will need a second career after their day in sports are over.  With only a couple of exceptions, they can't afford to neglect their education since they all know they will have to rely on it--immediately if they don't go pro--or otherwise after a few years.

For example, last year's #1 WNBA pick, Jackie Young, will earn $53,537.
