And in an interview Shaw stated there would be no changes to the staff. What about you? Any sleepovers? Can you convince me that he IS doing something?
Probably nobody on this board, or the $9.99 board for that matter, can actually know that Shaw is "doing nothing". If ones definition of "doing something" is making changes in the staff, then we know that he does not intend to make any personnel changes, although he did not rule out the possibility of their being attrition, which would require changes. Given that, it may be that somebody does a Beau Baldwin, though I doubt it. Shaw also did not rule out changing responsibilities of the existing staff, although I suspect that it it happens, it will be "around the edges". If one accepts a broader definition of "doing something", we can know he did something when and if we identify it. Unfortunately, he may do something we don't see or hear about, so SamuelMcF can probably never prove the negative. I guess that doesn't matter, since he appears to already be convinced.
Really, the only thing that matters is results. All kinds of changes that produce a "bad" season is not necessarily better than doing nothing and having a bad season. Of course, if Shaw stands pat, wins the PAC-12, but doesn't win a natty, then obviously he should have done something.
If Shaw wins the conference but not a national championship, I'll be more than a little understanding.
