Good article.   In the end if you aren't making mistakes in sports from time to time you likely aren't doing enough.

A soccer team that is never offside is not aggressive enough.
A PG without any turnovers is not creative enough.

A volleyball team without any service errors is not serving tough enough.  

Viewers will groan when a player serves long or into the net at a crucial point in the match, and might think, "Just get it in!" But if you send over a cupcake, you'll be eaten alive. Good serving can't be risk-free.

Nobody said it should be. 11 service errors and two aces in three sets isn't great (Minn). 6 service errors and two aces is a whole lot better (Wisc). Against Penn State, the girls had 4 service errors and 5 aces. Personally, I'd take the performance against Penn State any day, but to your point, the girls must have been really serving tough against Minnesota.
