Not quite equivalent.   Cheating, especially by ole' Bill, is not consistent with the spirit of the game.   Aggressive play is not the same as cheating.  And in college if you are cheating you might end up on probation. 

In volleyball over the season if you aren't hitting a few service errors a set, you aren't doing enough.  Inevitably some games a team will end up with a few more errors than other games, all part of a normal distribution around the mean.   Hambly wasn't worried about it.  The team wasn't worried about it.   So all was good.   

Looked to me like Wisconsin wasn't going to prevail even if Stanford became tentative and risk-averse on serves (Volleyball's turtle mode if you will) but why change the season long philosophy in the Final Four?  Especially if the team is ahead on points late in every set?
