Despised Cosell for his anti-Raider vitriol. That said, he was must watch TV. Dandy Don was a hoot. A moron perhaps, but a hoot. MNF in those days, was fantastic and a staple in our household growing up.

In my household we often turned off the TV sound and turned on the radio instead when Cosell and company were on MNF. Cosell was just too obnoxious.

Cosell was the guy everyone loved to hate.
I read one time about a group of people who watched MNF together. Before each game they would buy a cheap TV. When Cosell's face first appeared on screen they would take turns weekly blowing it away with a gun. Then they would watch the game on their regular TV. I thought that was a bit much.
