It's still crazy what you can find online. Here is a 1976 edition of Yumyum. Louie's was in Town and Country Village back then, before my time in California.

Thanks for that link Tim.  Looking over the San Francisco section, a lot of the places are surprisingly still open.

But what strikes me is how many French restaurants are listed, and many of them have closed.  French cuisine seems to have declined in popularity over the past 40 years.

The popularity of french cuisine was certainly enhanced by Julia Child and her best selling book on cooking it. Perhaps that influence has run its course.
