Nice win, thought our defense was very good until the end and the offense was fine. Cal looked a mess, not sure if just a bad game and they are better or, well not. I think a key was our rebounding. Cal has been rebounding well so taking that away really hurt them. Also thought they had a ton of moving screens. Seemed to me their offense looked like two or three players "setting" screens in a mosh at the top of the offense a lot, mostly floating around and getting in the way, really.
I also thought the end of the game pressing was not in their best interest. Sure, it maybe felt good for them to turn over our reserves a few times and get the score into semi-respectable territory, but does that help them in the long run? Tara says pressing is fool's gold because you can't do it against the better teams very successfully. Probably would have helped cal more to leave off the press and run their offense against our reserves. If they had any success in that it may have been a positive. Pressing our reserves isn't going to help them for the next game. Getting their half-court offense in better shape might.
