 It looks to me as if the Pac-12 meatgrinder may not be adequately appreciated, seeing Oregon and OSU dropping so far after their loss to a strong Pac-12.

Of course Oregon and Oregon State didn't lose to a strong Pac-12, they lost to unranked, four-loss ASU which prior to last weekend had one quality win (Creighton).

Still, broadly speaking you are correct. Most who do rankings give relative too much weight to fewer losses rather than strength of record - though basketball not so badly as in some sports.
