I *think* we agree, in which case thanks for the additional context.  My point was that generally there is an inverse correlation between the availability of other stuff to do and football attendance.

Columbus is the largest city where college football reigns supreme, and, as you noted, it doesn't have any pro football/basketball/baseball teams (though it does have an NHL team).
