A friend who read the story today about Covid-19 patients losing smell and taste told me tonight that based on her understanding this is a permanent side effect of the virus. Does this align what y’all have learned?

Rudy Gobert reports having lost his smell for 4 days. It seems odd that you could lose that sense for several days and then get it back. I’d almost rather have pneumonia than lose my sense of smell and taste!

I'm no expert but nothing I read said permanent.
