Extrapolating from other viruses onto this one is dangerous. The fact that with so many cases successfully traced without a single one going to surface transmission should tell you it's hard to do, and freezing something for years is not going to cause transmission, even if it might be one-in-a-billion possible. Just don't grab your frozen peas and immediately shove your finger into your nose and you'll be fine.
