This doesn't make sense... maybe I'm missing something...

Some 59% of the 1.5 million people who had signed up by March 29 and tested positive reported a loss of smell and taste, compared with 18% of those who tested negative, analysis of the data showed.

How are there 1.5M positive covid cases using this app when there are under 900k (at this time) reported in the world?

As for the thought that smell and taste are early indicators,  a study that was also done in the UK earlier this month said about 1/3 of cases experienced this symptom.   (The app result claims 59%?)

BTW, not arguing one way or the other.  Just throwing out some more data points.
