Unemployment numbers today:

701,000 jobs lost, unemployment rate up to 4.4%

This number reflects data from March 12, and in the last two weeks, we have since had 10 million file unemployment claims.  As it is, it is about as bad as the job losses we saw at the peak of the great recession.  The April unemployment report will be ghastly.
