These piecemeal attempts at containment or curve-bending will ultimately prove futile as the R0 value for SARS-CoV-2 seems to grow higher the more becomes known about how this virus spreads.  There is an anecdote from Singapore about how one post office worker came into work with symptoms (!!) and infected eight coworkers.  An R0 value of 8 would be...pretty bad.

R0 of 8 would make it as infectious as measles.  Fortunately, R0 represents an average.  Lots of infections result in super-spreader events where one person infects a whole bunch of others.  That's made up for by a bunch of people who don't infect anyone else (they start to feel like crap, stay bedbound and get better).  On average the Covid-19 R0 is probably somewhere between 2 and 3.
