I'm seeing a lot of articles suggesting gross underreporting of deaths, on the order of 100% or more.

When all is said and done, I won't be surprised if the actual numbers are 2-3x the reported.
Some of those additional deaths will be non-covid ailments that people did not seek treatment for: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/06/well/...e=Homepage I had a family member with a non-virus medical emergency a week ago, and we drove to within a block of the ER before we decided to turn around and wait it out at home instead. Everything turned out fine, fortunately. People are being forced to make awful decisions now.
My answer to that is PHONE YOUR PRIMARY CARE DOCTOR. They can help you make a decision on how serious the ailment is. It's safer to go to the doctor's office than the ER. Most doctors are sitting around doing nothing because everyone is afraid to go in at this time.
How many Americans don't actually have a primary care doctor? Meaning their best option is to wade into an ER? (I don't know the answer)
