My wife went into a grocery store, and was chatting up the manager (from a safe distance, with a mask on).  The store had installed plexiglass shields separating the clerks from the customers in the check-out stand.  She was commenting on how they seemed like a good idea and looked pretty nice.  The manager replied something to the effect of "the plexiglass shields are going to be a permanent fixture".

There are a lot of things, big and small, that are going to change permanently as a result of COVID-19.
