There are times when "a pox on both houses" is appropriate.  But this is a time when a pox on the house who screwed up the response is appropriate.

I agree.  Having said that, I think it's pretty clear that some folks in MSM (and even here) are soooo virulently anti-Trump that they view everything in the world through that prism.  It would be an interesting psychological study as to what inclines folks that way, because I view the POTUS, generally speaking, as having a minimal impact on my day-to-day life.  I can agree/disagree with policy or take or comment w/o turning up the heat to boil - it just doesn't matter that much to me and my family.  Oh wait, think there is a word for folks like me:  apathetic.

P.S.  There were also anti-Obama folks (and other regimes, too) - and I knew folks who would froth at the mouth because of how they perceived MSM to fawn all over the guy and give him the kid glove treatment.  I  have little doubt that the MSM liked Obama more than prior presidents (particularly Bush) and were "soft" on him; however,  it didn't get me too riled up, either.

By the way, one could envision circumstances where it turns out that certain governors are overly cautious about reopening the economy and the President's aggressive efforts in that vein are vindicated.  The opposite is also possible.
