I'm sort of coming around to akkiddoc's point that we might just not be able to replicate SK's success, which is damning but might be true. In that case the best option would be to get to herd immunity as quickly as possible without overwhelming the health system. Which would be terrible, but it might be our best option. (Hah, looks like since hitting "reply" dabigv posted basically the same thing.)
I think the most likely outcome is capitulation, which is why this whole blown response is so sad.
