NCAA denies request to drop Division I sport minimum

“We will prioritize student-athlete well-being and opportunities balanced with reducing costs associated with administering college sports, but a blanket waiver of sport sponsorship requirements is not in keeping with our values and will not be considered.”

Just saw that. Glad NCAA is doing something right. 

I'm wondering how big Stanford's athletic department endowment is now. It was about 500 million 7 years ago. You would think it was in the 750 million range prior to the recent downturn. You would think they could run the department at a low level through the year if needed.
