Azar is a bureaucrat. He is a lawyer, not a scientist or an great corporate leader. Like essentially all heads of Federal agencies he is qualified for his job by politics, not by competence.

He was the head of Lilly USA, the largest division of Eli Lilly.  Also Dartmouth/Yale trained.  You'd hope he'd be a little better at his job.

Depends on what his job is. If the goal is to discredit and disable government at any cost so Eli Lilly, et al. can do whatever they want, he's doing a real bang-up job.
