Most people would rather be poor and healthy than poor and sick?

My theory is people are more afraid of getting sick AND going bankrupt paying medical bills than they are of getting sick per se. This kind of data lends support to it. People losing money staying home, but prefer to stay away from others to avoid getting sick to possibly lose even more.

Congratulations American "health" care system!  You've managed to create a society willing to tank the economy to avoid medical bills!

Crazy to think that the most liberal ideas of Michael Yang and Bernie Sanders in 2019 are a reality in 2020 under President Trump.

People are getting money from the government.
People are getting COVID19 testing for free, or at least at different times that was the pledge by the federal government.

I suspect most people were not good at imagining a scenario where they would be unemployed while also facing significant healthcare expenses.
