Agree with Samantha Power.  One can be critical (as I have been) of our own response but that doesn't absolve China of its own responsibility here.  Their smugness is pretty rich.

WRT to the origins, it's a bit disconcerting that intelligence agencies are being pressured to find evidence that the virus started in a Chinese lab.

Separately, it would seem like now would be a bad time to withdraw funding from a project to look at bat coronaviruses:
