Abbott, maker of the rapid RTPCR assay, has a new IgG antibody assay. Recent preprint shows specificity of 99.9 after 1 false postivie in over a thousand precovid samples, sensitivity remarkably 100% as well by 17 days after symptom onset or 13 days after PCR positivity, though only 125 patients in this part of analysis. They found overall prevalence of 1.7% in Idaho.

This would be a much more useful antibody test if we're trying to test in low prevalence setting, like now in California. Way better test than what was used in Santa Clara and LA studies.

Those are ridiculously good numbers. Almost too good to be true.

It was specifically Boise, ID which was tested, so about as urban an area as you will find in the state (metro Boise population is 730,000 out of a total population of 1.8 million for the state).
