I saw former FDA chief Dr. Scott Gottlieb say yesterday effectively what most scientists and medical pros feel. That is we didn’t make enough progress with our lockdowns. Nobody thought we’d have 70,000 deaths with them in place. It’s possible warmer weather slows spread, but he said we should expect about 1,000 Covid-19 deaths per day through the Summer. 

Based on Italy, Spain, France having about 200/day after longer lockdowns and 5-6x less population, that 1k/day seems a reasonable estimate.
