JustAnotherFan, have you ridden the NYC subway much? What you have described is literally the lawless Joker's dream world. No law enforcement, no crowd monitoring, the prospect of lots of near empty cars that are a sure recipe for crime and homeless, and no revenue stream for the MTA. That is a sure recipe to run the MTA into the ground in weeks.
