Stanford issued an interim update to students today.  It lays out a range of scenarios, including the extremes, and indicates how campus life is likely to be different during the next academic year.

Wow, the potential Stanford campus experience described in the note sounds rather bleak.  

I do like that CSU decided to call this early, so that students and parents can get some time to determine if this upcoming year will meet their needs and expectations. 

I think schools that declare all will be normal only to make a quick switch in mid-August will leave the students and families in a tough place.   They may need to consider the academic quality and the lack of a campus culture while simultaneously struggling with economic uncertainties that may make paying for college very challenging. 

I think a lot of schools would worry about enrollment if they announced online early here in May, but as many of the major CSU campuses are impacted (at or above capacity) thinning the enrollment ranks might create a silver lining.

Looks to me like COVID19 will become the Director's cup champion for 2019-2020 AND 2020-2021
